Learn Flamenco in Hong Kong

Flamenco is an artform native to the Spanish regions of Andalusia, Extremadura and Murcia. Flamenco includes different areas; cante (singing), toque (guitar playing), baile (dance) and jaleo (vocalizations) and palmas (handclapping) and pitos (finger snapping).

Flamenco was first mentioned in literature in 1774, the genre originates in Andalusia music and dance styles. Flamenco is strongly associated with the gitanos (Romani people of Spain). However, unlike Romani music of Eastern Europe, the style is distinctively Andalusian and the fusion of the various cultures of Southern Spain is clearly perceptible in Flamenco music. In the recent years, Flamenco culture has become very popular in some countries of Asia.

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is proud to offer Flamenco dancing courses in Hong Kong. In cooperation with our members that offer different posibilities adjusted to your needs. You can learn more about the Flamenco schools and contact our members for further information.
