Biography

 

Borja is graduated in business administration at the University of Barcelona, and holds masters in international trade, international business management and in Eastern Asian Studies. After working in Spain in marketing departments of companies like RED BULL, his experience in hospitality industry started in small bars and restaurants and then in 5 stars hotels in Barcelona, Canary Islands and Mexico.

In 2006, Borja arrived to Hong Kong as part of ICEX internship programme, where he coordinated the Food and Beverage department at The Spanish Trade Commission. At that time, there were a total of 6 Spanish restaurants and no Spanish chef was present in Hong Kong. As part of his internship, He proposed to Spanish Government bringing Spanish chefs to organizing promotion activities in coordination with local importers to raise the profile of Spanish cuisine in Hong Kong.

In 2008, Borja was hired by The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong as Secretary General, position that will hold until June 2014. In 2012, Borja co-founded with a group of talented and young Spanish chefs, The Spanish Chef Association in Asia, where He is till Secretary General. He has also collaborated closely with The Spanish Tourism Board in bringing to Hong Kong great Spanish chefs like Ferran Adria, David Muñoz and other great ambassadors of Spanish gastronomy and culture.

In 2014, Borja joins Los Ibericos Ltd. Spanish Foods & Wines as General Manager and partner. After one year as General Manager for Western Division at well established hospitality Group Elite Concepts. Borja is back in charge of Los Ibericos Ltd.
