The Direct Flight to Spain: A success story

The Chamber of Commerce was one of the Spanish institutions who, together with the Consulate, the Trade Commission and AENA had various meetings to try to achieve what the Spanish community had been demanding for a long time: a direct flight to Spain.

Finally, after years of meetings, Cathay Pacific decided to launch a direct flight, first to Madrid and then to Barcelona, further strengthening the ties between our two territories.

This is an example of the important Advocacy work carried out by the Chamber. It often requires years of preparation but the results have a clear impact on the community. Other advocacy projects include to support the existence of a Spanish International School in Hong Kong or the arrival of the Cervantes Institute.
